AccoLux ThermoLux heating underlay
AccoLux ThermoLux heating underlayElectrically heated heating mat with VDE/GS conformity mark. ThermoLux heating mats are made of water-proof and rot-proof material, are completely watertight and can even be used in water without any danger. They offer maximum security due to the built-in, full-surface protective conductor. The mats are recommended by noted veterinarians and are available in a large assortment of specialist outlets. General Instructions: - ThermoLux heating mats are made of water-proof and rot-proof material, are completely watertight and can even be used in water without any danger.
- They offer maximum security due to the built-in, full-surface protective conductor. When working on the matting or in the aquarium, however, always
disconnect the mains plug to prevent danger of electric shock. - The mats are directly connected to the 230V power supply by means of the plug connector and, at an ambient temperature of 20°C,
and without a cover, reach a maximum surface temperature of approximately 42°C. - However, the heating of the mat depends on the undersurface, the ambient temperature and the amount of substrate to be heated (sand, mulch, water etc.)
and can take from several hours to days. - When used without temperature limitation, avoid overheating the ThermoLux heating mat, since the mat can reach a temperature of over 100°C if placed between dry substrates!
Use as terrarium underlay:
- The ThermoLux heating mat should be placed on a sheet of styropor at least 12 mm thick.
- The mat should be placed so as not to cover the whole terrarium area, so that the reptiles can also seek out cooler areas.
- To avoid stress cracks in the terrarium floor, do not place the terrarium directly on the mat, but lay spacers approximately 8 mm high between the mat and the
- terrarium base (e.g. wooden slats).
- This will ensure an even distribution of heat.
- Check the temperature change at the surface of the floor substrate using a thermometer, and adjust the separating distance to achieve the required temperature.
- Ensure that the humidity is sufficient to prevent the animals suffering from dehydration.
Note: - The mat must not be placed in the terrarium, since animals may crawl under it, or it may be damaged by animals with sharp claws.
- The mat must not be placed between two layers of insulating material (e.g. styropor, wood shavings, other substrate material).
- This could lead to a build-up of heat, and damage to the terrarium or heating mat (see General Instructions)!
Use as an underlay for plants:
- Place the mat on a windowsill or directly in a hydro-culture vessel or seeding tray.
- Depending on the volume of the planter and the ambient temperature, the soil temperature rises to approximately 20-25°C,
which is a very comfortable temperature range for plants. - Water regularly in order to prevent the earth drying out.
- Keep the substrate moist in order to prevent overheating.
- The AccuLux ThermoLux - Temperature Regulator can be used for controlling the temperature.
- The temperature will then automatically be maintained within the required range.
- The temperature regulation is only sufficiently accurate within the damp substrate.

Lucky Reptile Thermo Control II
The successor of the popular Thermo Control thermostats shows only with its price that it is an entry model. - The Thermo Control II is a digital thermostat with a temperature range of 0-50°C.
- The permanent temperature display also allows its use as thermometer. (...)
In addition the Thermo Control II has an alarm function which warns optically and acoustically if the measured temperature is too high or too low (value can be set).

Lucky Reptile Thermo Control Pro II
The Thermo Control PRO II is a modified Thermo Control II. The main difference is the realtime clock and two temperature time zones which make it possible to set different temperatures for day and night. - The switching between Day/Night mode is realized through the clock.
- Contrary to the Thermo Control II the smallest time unit of the timer is one minute. (...)

Exo-Terra Heat Wave Desert - terrarium substrate heater
The Desert substrate heater simulates heated sand beds by the sun in deserts. The amount of hours a day and the strength of the sun in these regions can generate extreme hot surfaces. The substrate is dry and does not increase the air humidity as seen in rainforests or tropical areas. The power of the Heat Wave Desert substrate heater is designed to safely create these conditions in the terrarium. (...)

Exo-Terra Heat Wave Rainforest - terrarium substrate heater
The Rainforest substrate heater simulates a heated forest floor of tropical areas. The sun is often blocked by trees and clear skies are alternated by cloudy conditions in tropical areas or rainforests. Heavy rainfall keeps the soil often moist what results in a high air humidity, especially when the sun breaks through the clouds and heats up the moist soil. (...)
