Xenesthis immanis ist in den Regenwäldern Panamas, Perus, Kolumbiens, Venezuelas, Ecuador und Brasiliens beheimatet. Wie alle Südamerikanischen Arten gehört sie zu den sog. Bombadierspinnen. Sie ist bodenbewohnend und gräbt lange Wohnröhren in die Erde. Dort verbringt sie ihren Tag und wartet auf die Dunkelheit. Als dämmerungsaktive Jägerin lauert sie dann am Höhleneingang auf vorbeikommende Insekten und Kleintiere.
